Employee Spotlight

Integrated Dealer Systems is proud to feature Marilyn Melkus, the Manager of the Professional Services Division in the Employee Spotlight. Some customers may already recognize her because of the outstanding work she does with the IDS Regional Training Classes. “I enjoy the challenge of making sure our customer's dealerships are as profitable and efficient as possible" she said when discussing her position. Marilyn has been working for and/or with IDS and Astra for over 16 years! Her experience with Astra began with Holiday Rambler retail stores in 1992, where she was the assistant controller using Astra to run the 12 Holiday World stores. Marilyn also spent 3 years as controller of a large multi-location boat dealership. With IDS, her passion has led her to become the Manager for the Professional Services Division, delivering on-site advanced training to the IDS dealer base. The experience of working both for IDS, in both support and training roles, and for a major RV and boat dealer, allows her to bring a wealth of experience to the table. This enables Marilyn to understand two key elements: the software and the dealership employee. This unique brand of experience allows Marilyn to discuss not only how to maneuver within Astra, but also how to manage a dealership accounting department, discuss operational changes that may be needed in the dealership, and to determine a more efficient way to get the job done within Astra.
